636,387. Vapour burner. WILSON, W. Aug. 8, 1946, No. 23518. Convention date, Aug. 8, 1945. [Class 75 (i)] In a liquid fuel stove the burner nipple 10 is located directly below a loop 9 in the vapour generating pipe and just above a shallow well 6 formed in the top of the fuel tank, the generating pipe consisting of a limb 7 terminating in the burner nipple and a limb 8 which includes a fuel control valve 11 and which extends to the bottom of the fuel tank. At starting methylated spirits is burned in the well 6 and the heat developes sufficient air or vapour pressure in the tank to force the fuel up the vapour generator pipe. This pressure is maintained during the operation of the burner by heat radiated from the generator tube to the roof of the tank assisted by heat conducted by the limb 8 to the fuel. A copper rod 17 may extend from the flame of the burner into the fuel to provide additional heat conduction means. A wind shield may be mounted on the burner legs and the tank may be provided with a spring-loaded safety valve.
