636,272. Fire alarm systems. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., JACKSON, R., and BATES, E. F. Oct. 10, 1947, No. 27231. [Class'40 (i)] In a signal transmitting mechanism for a fire-alarm street box, the main gear wheel 8 carries two lugs 11, 12, the former normally engaging a spring-biassed pivoted stop-arm 14, and being situated slightly nearer the centre than, and behind, the lug 12, whereby the wheel 8 can only make one revolution on being released ; for even if stop-arm is held up by the pull handle it will engage the lug 12, and on subsequent release the lug 11. The " pullhandle " lever 2 mounted on and outside the box door rocks a lever 3 inside the box which engages an. arm 16 on the stop-lever pinion to release the mechanism.
