Abstract

Falling-flap and other release indicators.-In a signalling system wherein the origin of the call is indicated by one of a number of pivoted semaphores arranged in a casing and electromagnetically released when a bell is rung, a contact, associated with one or each semaphore, operates auxiliary visual signalling apparatus, such as lamps. A semaphore d, Figs. 1 and 2, carrying a weight A, is provided with a contact B, which when the semaphore is released engages a pin h on the semaphore resetting bar j and closes the circuit of auxiliary signalling apparatus. The contact B which is attached at one end to the semaphore arm, is connected to a spring c which at its other end is attached to a terminal. As shown in Fig. 3, when one of the indicators m<1> - - m<4> is operated by its corresponding push n<1> - - n<4>, the indicator m<5> is also operated to close the circuit of the local and distant lamps k<1>, k<2>. The auxiliary signal is extinguished when the indicators are reset. Each semaphore may be provided with a contact B or the semaphores may be grouped, and each group provided with an additional semaphore having a contact. In the latter arrangement differently coloured lamps are associated with each group. The Provisional Specification states that the apparatus may be operated by a door or window contact so as to function as a burglar alarm and that the auxiliary signal may comprise a bell or buzzer.
