[Class 115] The davit arm a, hinged at its lower end to the deck, pivotally carries at its upper end a cross-piece d, the outer end of which has a sheave d<SP>3</SP> over which the falls run. The inner end of the cross-piece is attached to the deck support by the hinged rod e. As the davit is pushed outboard by the screwed link p, the travel of the sheave d<SP>3</SP> along the fall, the inboard end of which is secured to the bollard i, causes a lift to the boat in addition to the vertical movement of the end of the cross-link itself.
