Abstract

635,806. Spring clips. DU HEAUME, E. H. Feb. 5, 1948, No. 3342. [Classes 44 and 89 (ii)] [Also in Group XV] A clip 1 for retaining the hinged edges of a picture mount (see Group XV) is substantially U- or J-shaped, constructed of metal strip with at least one spring element 6, Fig. 1, protruding sideways and having one leg 2 formed with a hook or eye 5 to receive a retaining cord or the like that extends across the back of the assembly from clip to clip. In a modification, Fig. 3, the leg 2 is divided into three tongues 10, 11, 12 the central tongue 11 being curled to form the hook or eyes 5 and the two outer tongues 10, 12 being bent inwards to provide spring tongues. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 657,161.
