Abstract

A ceramic dielectric comprises titania, not more than 15 per cent nickel oxide, and optionally magnesia and/or calcium, strontium or barium oxides; there may also be present zirconia and/or thoria not exceeding 15 per cent of either or both together. The ingredients are wet mixed, milled with water, dried, crushed, mixed with, say, flour plaste, shaped, dried and fired at, say, 1400 DEG C. The nickel, magnesium and alkaline earth oxides may be replaced by, for example, carbonates, or some or all of the ingredients may be preformed from oxides, e.g. nickel zirconate, magnesium or alkaline earth titanate or zirconate may be employed. Tables are given indicating properties of various dielectrics produced in accordance with the invention.ALSO:A ceramic dielectric comprises titania, not more than 15 per cent nickel oxide, and optionally magnesia and/or calcium, strontium or barium oxides; there may also be present zirconia and/or thoria not exceeding 15 per cent of either or both together.
