Abstract

A ceramic dielectric comprises bismuth titanate with calcium titanate, with or without strontium titanate, wherein about 35% by weight is bismuth titanate and the proportion of strontium titanate to the total of calcium and strontium titanates does not exceed 68%, preferably does not exceed 63% by weight, and is suitable for making capacitors. The composition is made by mixing optionally pre-calcined titanates with water and binding agent, pressing or extruding, drying and firing to 1000 DEG to 1200 DEG C.
