[Classes 83 (ii) and 83 (iv)] Angular bending; drawing.-Thick walled metal tubes of small diameter are made by cold bending a strip and then drawing the tube to reduce the internal and external diameters. A strip 2 is fed through a guide 13 to rollers 3, 4, which bend the edges of the strip to the finished curvature, Fig. 5. Shaped rolls 5, 6 then complete the bending. The tube is then drawn through a die 7 to reduce the external diameter without altering the wall thickness. Making compound tubes.-One tube may be used as a core on which further tubes may be bent and the whole then drawn to form a multi-layer tube.
