[Class 29] [Also in Group XXX] A freezing tunnel comprises a series of parallel longitudinal cooling tubes 2 forming a track for directly supporting the goods or containers 7, which are moved through the tunnel from the inlet 3 to the outlet 4. As shown the tubes are inclined so that the goods slide down under gravity. The tubes may be horizontal or upwardly inclined the goods being moved by endless ropes, with catch means for engaging behind the goods and sliding them over the cooling tubes. Air locks are provided at the ends of the tunnel.
