Abstract

633,580. Rooflights, skylights &c. WILLIAMS, H. M. Sept. 30, 1947, No. 26333. [Class 20 (iii)] In roof and like glazing in which the fixed and opening frames are constructed of metal glazing bars 1, 2 of inverted T or like section and with the bars 2 of the opening frame parallel to and vertically above the bars 1 of the fixed frame, the opening frame includes a glazing bar having, at the extremity of the flange of the T cross-section which extends away from the glazing 9 of that frame, a strip 3 of ductile weather resistant material adapted to be formed or bent, while the skylight or the like is being built into a building &c. or subsequently, so as to be in close contact along its free-edge 4 with the upper surface of the glazing sheet 5 of the fixed frame or with the adjoining structure 10. The strip 3 may be formed integrally with the sheath of the glazing bar, or attached by soldering, or formed as a separate strip which is sufficiently resilient to be attached by a clip-on portion 7, see Fig. 2. Fig. 3 shows the transverse bar 2a of the opening frame with the strip 3a formed to touch the lower face of the glazing 9 above the weather bar 10 which it envelopes and protects.
