[Class 6(i)] A manure distributer comprises a wheeled trailer 1 housing an upwardly and rearwardly inclined conveyer 5, feeding manure to comminuting devices 8, 10, from which it falls on to the surface of an inclined vaned disc 6. The conveyer may be an endless band (as shown) or a worm. The comminuting devices comprise discs 8 on a shaft 9 and multibladed knives 10 on a shaft 11. Alternatively, a reciprocating cutter may be used. When a worm conveyer is employed, the cutter may comprise a rotary knife on the worm shaft cooperating with fixed or oppositely-rotating knives on the tube in which the worm rotates. The discs 8 and conveyer 5 are driven from the land-wheel axle 13 through a clutch (Fig. 2, not shown) and a gear-box 16. The knives 10 and spreading disc 6 are also driven from the axle, through chains 23, 33. By means of the gear-box 16 the relative speeds of the disc 6 and conveyer 5 may be varied. In modifications, the disc 6 may be stationary and only the vanes rotatable, and the disc may be of variable inclination and include a free wheel to permit overrunning. All the mechanisms may be driven from a power take-off.
