Abstract
632,599. Rocket-launching guns. ZBROJOVKA BRNO, NARODNI PODNIK. June 23, 1947, No. 16588. Convention date, July 16, 1946. [Classes 92 (i) and 92 (ii)] Rocket-type projectiles are fed one by one to a discharge guide and are automatically fired when reaching the firing position, the feed means being drivably connected to an operating member located in the path of the gases discharged from the projectiles at the time of firing, so that the feed movements of said feed means are transmitted to it by the operating member. In the construction shown, the gases of discharge from the rocket 7 impinge on vanes formed on the inner surface of the operating member 3, which is rotatably mounted on the cylindrical extension 4 of the discharge guide 1. The rotary motion of the member 3 is transmitted to a member 6, which drives the belt feeding the rockets, through a slipping clutch 5. Thus, upon firing one rocket the belt is moved and when the next rocket reaches the firing position, both it and the belt are retained by a pivoted lever 12. This lever is moved slightly by the rocket against the action of a spring 15, such movement closing a switch 13, 14, in the firing circuit. The launching of the rocket enables the belt to move to the next position, the chambers 11 of the belt being slotted so that they can pass the lever 12. In a modification the gases impinge on a propeller geared to the clutch 5, and in another modification they impinge on blades of a member forming an element of a clutch. In another construction, the chambers 11 are rigidly interconnected and pass between straight guides to the firing position. Specification 596,288 is referred to.
