Abstract
632,510. Boxes. JEWSON & SONS, Ltd., and ELY, R. Feb. 13, 1947. No. 4136. [Class 18] The sides, bottom and ends of a wooden packing case or like box are secured by a pair of sheet metal members 1 formed so that the ends of the box lie flush with the edges of the bottom and sides. Each member is formed with two channels 2, 3 at rightangles, a continuous wall 5 having extension pieces 6, two rightangled notches 4, Fig. 1 (not shown), holes 10, 10<SP>1</SP> and slots 11 in the outer and inner channels respectively. Each member is bent to form three sides of a rectangle; the two sides and bottom of the box are rigidly secured in the portions of the outer channel 8, 9, 7, and the ends secured in the inner channel by nails or screws through the holes and slots 10, 11. The lid is secured by the extension pieces 6 bent over and nailed or screwed through the holes 10<SP>1</SP>.
