[Classes 17 (iii) and 89 (iii)] A machine for making studs for football boots comprises lower and upper dies 1, 20 and fixed ejector members 8 which support nails in bores 5 of a spring-raised support 4 whereby lowering of the upper die 20 forces the nails through leather discs on the support 4, the ends thereof being received by bores 21 in the die 20. The dies 1, 20 co-operate to cut-out the leather discs, the support 4 being held in successive depressed positions by a spring latch 12. A projection 26 on the die 20 forms a depression in the face of the stud to contact a boot sole.
