631,618. Speedometers. ETABLISSEMENTS E. JAEGER. July 1, 1947, No. 17343. Convention date, Aug. 7, 1946. [Class 106 (iii)] Transmission mechanism for the cycle or motor cycle speedometer described in Specification 612,526 is characterized in that the wall of a casing 51 directed toward the vehicle wheel forms a cup co-axial with the wheel and provided with concentric circular grooves 88 adapted to collect and convey water and mud to the lower part of the cup. The device is clamped on the axle between the wheel and the forks, and a dog 61, engaging between spokes of the wheel, drives a helical gear 53, which drives a second helical gear 72 coupled to the flexible drive to the speedometer. A duct 90 is provided for pressure lubrication.
