Abstract

630,355. Dielectric heating. WESTING- HOUSE ELECTRICAL INTERNATIONAL CO. Oct. 1, 1947, No. 26458. Convention date, Oct. 4, 1946. [Class 39(iii)] Dielectric material to be heated W is placed between the surfaces 14, 12, in a resonant cavity 2 the outer walls being earthed as shown. The wall 8 of the resonant cavity is movable to allow removal of the work, and may be operated by a ram 16 to apply pressure during heating if required. In a modification, Fig. 3, powdered material for injection moulding is heated in a work receiving space 52 between the surfaces 48, 50, and is forced into the workreceiving space by a ram 54 operating in a hollow re-entrant member 38, the material being discharged at the nozzle 44.
