Abstract

630,353. Inductances. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., CURTIS, P. B., and BREWSTER, L. M. KING-. Sept. 18, 1947, No. 25493. [Class 38 (ii)] An electric inductor which is cooled by the passage of liquid through it, comprises a coiled tube divided internally to provide two separate passages connected together at one or both ends and provided with an inlet and outlet at the earthy end or intermediate point of the inductor. A copper tube 2 may be inserted inside copper tube 1 which may be silverplated, and terminates short of a plug 3 sealing one end of the tube 1, a space 4 communicating to the passage inside and around the inner tube 2. Connections are made through 8, 9 to the two passages. Fixed tappings 5, 6, 7 may be soldered to the outer tube 1 and a movable tapping may be provided as described in Specification 630,347, [Group XXXVI]. Cooling fluid for another part such as-a valve may be taken from one end of the inductance.
