Abstract
629,949. Snap-action switches. TESCH, W. J., and DARBO, H. H. (trading as TESCH & DARBO). June 14, 1946, No. 17903. Convention date, July 11, 1945. [Class 38(v)] A retractive snap-action switch has a trifurcated blade spring which has the ends of its outer (tension) blades 12 fixed to an insulating switch base 1 and the end of its inner (compression) blade 14 located in a thrust seat 15 between spaced limbs 18 of a contact-carrying bar 7 which is anchored at one end 8 to the switch base. When but-- ton 17 is pressed, the butt end of the trifurcated spring is depressed and the contact bar is forced past the dead-centre position to close the contacts 10, 5 with a snap action. Other constructions, are described and illustrated; in Fig 6 (not shown) the contact bar has a depressed central portion to provide spring clearance; in Figs. 7 and 8 (not shown) the outer spring blades are located in the thrust seat in compression and the central strip forms the tension member; and in Fig 10 (not shown) the spring is a riveted two-bladed member. The switch of Fig 9 (not shown) is a change-over switch and it has a second operating button in the switch base.
