[Class 117] In screening apparatus such as for' screening and conditioning an agglomerated mass of moulder's sand and of the type which comprises a relatively-moving comb grid 12, 13, and bar grid 15 so mounted and operated with respect to each other as to shift and advance material dumped on the grids from a hopper 11, a material diverting'bar 16 is mounted on and movable with grid element 12 in close relation to the wall 17 of the hopper. As shown, the diverting bar 16 has an inwardly-inclined face, being triangular in cross-section and is mounted on the outermost set of fins 13 extending from an outer element of the comb grid.
