629,053. Condensers. WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL CO. Oct. 22, 1947, No. 28235. Convention date, Dec. 4, 1941. Drawings to Specification. [Class 37] A dielectric material, especially for capacitors comprises a liquid mixture of a diaryl sulphone and at least one halogenated aromatic compound having a freezing point below that of the sulphone. Phenyl xylyl sulphone, tolyl xylyl sulphone or a mixture of these is mixed with an equal weight of diphenyl chlorinated to 50-60 per cent of maximum chlorination. The mixture may be combined with kraft paper. A halogenated aromatic compound of low freezing point, e.g. trichlorobenzene, tetrachlorbenzene, tetrachlorethylbenzene or pentachlorethylbenzene may be added, and may replace the diphenyl chloride. The acidity content of the mixture may be reduced by treating it with Fuller's earth at 100‹ C. and then filtering it.
