[Class 44] [Also in Group XXIII] A clamp device for clamping sheets of rubbing material to the shoe of a rubbing machine comprises a supporting plate 1 and a clip 6 pivotally mounted on the plate and having an opening 13 through which extends a cam bracket 14 also pivoted on the plate. The cam bracket 14 carries a pivoted cam 23 on which is mounted a roller 25. When the clamp is closed the roller 25 acts through leaf spring 28 to force the clip 6 closed against the pressure of a coil spring 10. Specification 618,684 is referred to.
