627,031. Flexible pipes. METCALF, P. J., and PIRELLI-GENERAL CABLE WORKS, Ltd. Sept. 19, 1947, No. 28310/46. [Class 99(ii)[ A flexible pipe comprises a plurality of separate tubes 11 made of a flexible organic polymer which consists of a polyvinyl chloride or polyvinyl acetate or a copolymer of polyvinyl chloride and polyvinyl acetate or polychloroprene or polymerized halogenated ethylene, the tubes being bound together in a protective casing 12. The casing may be of natural or synthetic rubber or a synthetic resin, and the spaces 13 between the tubes and casing are packed with a similar material or a fibrous material such as jute. A wire armouring 14 and lead sheath 15 may be added, or helically wound fibrous strip material may be used as a covering. The tubes may be of different colours for identification.
