Abstract
626,497. Clutches. LEADERFLUSH, Ltd., and BROUGH, R. A. Oct. 8, 1946, No. 29949. [Class 80 (ii)] A one-revolution clutch comprises a ratchet wheel 1 secured to a driving shaft 2, a driven drum 3 rotatably mounted on the shaft 2, and a bell-crank lever 6 pivotally mounted at 5 within the drum 3. One arm of the lever 6 extends through an aperture 10 in the drum and in the clutch disengaged position abuts against a stop 14 preventing engagement of a detent 7 formed on the other arm of the lever, with the ratchet teeth 8. A pin 12 on the drum 3, engaging a notch in a pivoted lever 13, prevents backward rotation of the drum. On removal of the stop 14, the detent 7 is forced into engagement with the ratchet wheel by the spring 11, thereby clutching the drum and wheel together. Before completion of the revolution the stop 14 is replaced so that it may engage the arm 9 of the lever 6 thereby disengaging the clutch. Specification 604,406, [Group XXIII], is referred to.
