626,318. Magnetic work-holders. BOHLI, J. Aug. 22, 1946, No. 25058. Convention date, Aug. 30, 1945. [Class 60] A magnetic workholder comprises a number of magnet limbs 1 supporting a pole plate 2 which consists of alternate bars of magnetic material 3 and non magnetic material 4 arranged transversely to the magnetic field, the distance between adjacent magnet limbs being at least twice the distance between adjacent magnetic bars 3 of the pole plate. A steel shaft 5 is interposed between the limbs 1 and the pole plate 2. The work is released by turning the pole plate so that the bars 3, 4, lie along the plane of the magnetic field.
