Abstract
625,126. Thermally-actuated valves. BRITISH THERMOSTAT CO., Ltd., and SHERLOCK, J. E. Sept. 2, 1946, No. 26349. [Class 135] A valve device for controlling the gas supply to an oven comprises a thermally responsive element, e.g. a phial and capillary tube, for actuating, through the bellows 12 and wire 16, a rocking member 17 which moves the gas valve 20, the pivot 23 of the member being carried by a spring-loaded plunger 24 adjustable, by a cam device 8 connected by a pin 7 to a gas cock 5, for determining the oven temperature. The cock may be locked in the " off " position by a latch device described in Specification 606,134. The effect of local temperature variations is removed by a bimetallic disc 33 which varies the loading of the bellows spring 15.
