Abstract
806,645. Thermally-actuated valves. ROBERTSHAW-FULTON CONTROLS CO. Oct. 19, 1955 [March 24, 1955], No. 29866/55. Class 135. A thermostatic control device comprises a casing having an inlet 12 and outlet 14 separated by a seat 18 controlled by a valve 20 biased at 22 towards the seat, an operative connection 52 to the valve biased at 66 in one direction and engaged by the movable member 44 of thermal element 32 for movement in the opposite direction, and means 82 responsive to excess movement of member 44 for terminating the operative connection and allowing the valve to close. The valve is normally actuated by the adjustably anchored bellows 32 acting through a lever 52. Should the bellows contact unduly an adjustable screw 92 on the lever turns a latch 84 which releases a pivoted seat 72 for a spring 66 biasing the lever on to the thermal element and the valve stem.
