Abstract
624,931. Coated confectionery. GRAY, DUNN, & CO., Ltd., and GILES, J. K. July 12, 1947, No. 18600. [Class 28(i)] [Also in Group II] The centre of a coated confection comprises biscuit, fondant &c. shapes 1 each having one flat surface 2 so that when they are tumbled with a liquid chocolate syrup &c. coating pairs of the flat surfaces adhere together and also receive the all-round coating 3. The shapes may be preliminarily warmed to receive the first coating. When united, the shapes contain some of the coating as a sandwich filling 4. Further coatings may then be applied. Each shape 1 is preferably a spherical segment. Shapes which fail to unite in pairs may be separated from the others by passing all over an inclined vibrating plane, the united shapes rolling off, and the flat shapes remaining on. The confections may then be glazed or polished.
