Abstract

624,331. Weighing - apparatus. DOUGLAS, W. D. July 3, 1947, No.17539. [Class. 143] [Also in Groups XXII and XXIV] A lever system for balances and the like comprises a number of links, levers and supports linked together by elastic joints, the system being formed as a whole from one piece of material. As shown in Fig. 1, the system is cut from a piece of sheet material a, b, c, d to form the lever linkage system of Fig. 2, the main support being at 42, through pivot 11, the support 9 merely stabilizing the system. The system gives a sensitive balance for a weight F supported on lever 1, and a load P acting through pivot 14 and lever 7. The system may be moulded from thermoplastic synthetic material, and may have a varying cross-section.
