Abstract

624,243. Mobile lifting devices. EALING STUDIOS Ltd., and SPELLER, J. C. June 19, 1947, No. 16214. [Class 108 (i)] Lifting apparatus includes in combination a mobile framework carrying a substantially vertical lifting bar 12 mounted at the front of the framework for substantially vertical movement therein, said bar carrying hooks for engagement under projections on the article to be lifted (e.g. a film set) a counterweight 13 for lifting said bar through a lever 9 and toggle 20, 21 for raising said counterweight when required by lifting handle 23. The frame comprises angle-bar base 1 of triangular form to which are attached angle members 3 and 4 bent and fixed as shown in Fig. 1, strengthening members 10 and strengthening plates 7 which carry the pivot pin 8 for lever 9. The lifting bar 12 is of.channel section pivoted at its lower end on a pin carrying a roller 17 and engaging a slot in said bar. An arm 25 and removable pin 26 retain the mechanism in lowered position whilst a removable pin 29 inserted through holes in members 3 and 4 limits travel of lever 9, thus determining height of lift. The article lifted is steadied by abutments 31 and the whole may be moved on castors 11.
