Abstract

623,794. Swath-turners. DICKIE, J. April 18, 1947, No. 10435. [Class 6(iii)] A tractor-drawn swath-turner is characterized in that no provision is made for adjusting the tines relatively to the implement frame, the frame being constructed for attachment to the power-lift links of the tractor so as to be bodily liftable thereby. The tines b project from heads a containing sun and planet gearing. The heads are mounted on sub-frames c tiltable about an axle d on which is also mounted the main implement frame including side members i and a cross-bar j. The main frame is connected to upper and lower links m and o on the tractor, so that the implement may be lifted bodily by power-lift arms p. A spring q is attached between an anchor s on the main frame and an arm e of the sub-frame to hold the two frames resiliently together, but to permit the tines to rise on encountering obstructions. A single wheel u is carried on the axle d. The gearing may be driven from the axle or from a power take-off. Screens h are mounted on the sub-frames.
