Abstract

623,464. Drainage inlets. HARRISON, E. DU G. April 1, 1947, No. 8795. Convention date, April 11, 1946. [Class 33] A drainage inlet for a flat surface protected by a waterproof sheeting 12 comprises a hollow frusto-conical or dishshaped member 6 having at the lower end an internally threaded cylindrical portion 3, by which it is attached to a down pipe 4, and at the upper end a flange 8. The member 6 attached to the downpipe is embedded in the roof surface 9 so that the flange 8 is flush with that surface and the apertured sheeting 12 laid, the edge of the aperture overlapping the member 6. A clamping element 10 having a shape corresponding to the internal shape of the member 6 is clamped within that member 6 by a spider 17, a screwed hook 15 and cross bar 13 secured to the element 10 so that the sheeting is jammed between the members 6 and 10. A strainer 20 is clamped against the spider. In a modification the element 10 is secured to the member 6 by bolts passing through aligned bosses and the strainer is bolted to bosses formed on the inside of the element 10.
