Abstract

The active part of a soldering-iron consists of an alloy of copper with 0.02 to 3 per cent of zirconium, preferably 0.1 to 1.3 per cent thereof. Such tool is stated to be very corrosion proof at high temperatures to solder or air and has very great hardness which decreases only to a very small degree at high temperatures.
