622,546. Garages.. BRUCE, R. March 24, 1947, No. 7963. [Class 20(i)] A. building for parking cars comprises independently controlled aligned hoists c in line with the entrances b and each adapted to receive a car and capable of being raised or lowered to leave a clear runway for cars to the other hoists. The hoists are raised by ropes and electric motors. The operation of the hoist may be controlled' by a coin-freed meter dependent on the length of time the car is parked. Warning lights may indicate that a hoist is being lowered, and fenders may be raised at the ends of the hoist when a hoist is lowered. Each fender is operated by a rope attached to a quadrant having a finger engaged by a guide on the hoist to turn the quadrant. A switch under the hoist stops the hoist if it is inadvertently lowered when a car is beneath it.
