[Class 29] In an ice-cream freezer as described in Specification 604,314 the evaporator space 5 between the freezing cup 1 and the inner cylinder 2 is filled with a partial packing material such as metal cubes, balls or rods 6, to reduce the cross-sectional area of the space 5 and so increase the rate of flow of refrigerant. The cup 1 is provided with a tube 11 for flushing purposes. Specification 607,928 also is referred to.
