Abstract
177,144. Shepherd, A. F., (Assignee of Zabinski, F.). March 16, 1921, [Convention date]. Ice-cream and like freezers; ice-making, can or mould apparatus for.-A heat-insulated vessel 1 adapted to contain substances to be cooled or iced or to serve as an ice mould is fitted with two coils 2 and 6 through either or both of which carbonic acid from a bottle 5 is evaporated. When used for cooling purposes only, the inner coil is removed, and the coil 2 is connected with the bottle directly or through a junction-piece 4. A liner or sleeve 3 is placed within the coil 2. When used for ice-making, the coil 6 is connected with the bottle and through the junction piece 4 with the coil 2. The coil 6 may be.supported by an insulated lid 9, and is fitted with an inner sleeve 7. The ice may be subdivided into strips by fitting around the coil 6 a sleeve or ring carrying partitions 10, Fig. 4. An inner lining 11 may be used to reduce the capacity of the mould, in which case only the inner coil 6 is employed, the outer coil being disconnected from the junction piece.
