Abstract

622,290. Magnetrons. PATELHOLD PATENTVERWERTUNGS- & ELEKTROHOLDING AKT.-GES. Sept. 12, 1946, No. 27463. Convention date, Sept. 12, 1945. [Class 39 (i)] A magnetron, of the interdigitated anode type, with a cylindrical guide electrode 2 bounding the discharge space on the inside, has at least one electrode, which does not belong to the oscillating circuit for determining the frequency of the tube, and in which high-frequency currents occur during operation, connected to a low radiation electrical oscillating system tuned to minimise the high-frequency losses. In Fig. 1 the leads 12 to the cathode 1 constitute a Lecher line terminated by a capacity 13, which may be variable. The end plates 7 are connected to another Lecher wire system 15. The Lecher wires may be tuned to an effective length of an odd number of quarter-wavelengths, and may be de-coupled from each other by arranging, them perpendicular to each other. The Lecher wire may be replaced by a coaxial line constructed as a bore in the magnet. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes in Fig. 3 (Cancelled) a low loss conductor 18 arranged in parallel with the cathode and connected directly to it at one end and capacitatively at the other. This avoids losses in the tuned circuit 12 from which the output is taken inductively. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
