Abstract
622,063. Fence-posts. PROVE BROS., Ltd., COPESTACK, E. C. G., and JONES, R. S. March 10, 1947, Nos. 6575 and 12945. [Class 45] A wire fencing stake comprises a slender rigid upright of angle or T-section metal apertured for fence wires and with a local reinforcement extending above and below ground level to increase the wearing properties and resistance to bending. A pointed angle-section stake 10, Fig. 1, has an angle-section reinforcement .13 welded to it to form a square box-like portion the top of which is closed by a welded plate 15. Holes 16 are provided for the fencing wires. In a modification, a flat plate is used to form a triangular-section box-like structure. In another construction, Fig. 3, angle-sections 18, 19 are welded to the stake as shown; one angle-section only may be used if desired. T-section stakes are reinforced by any of the methods described and/or by welding a plate to the head of the T. The first Provisional Specification describes a plate welded to the stalk of the T either alone or in addition to other reinforcements. The reinforcement may be attached by riveting or methods other than welding and in the modification, Fig. 3, flat plates may be used instead of angle-sections.
