Abstract

446,508. Implements for working land and treating turf &c. CLARK, C. F., Ripley Grange, Debden Lane, Loughton, Essex. Oct. 25, 1934, No. 30668. [Classes 6 (i) and 6 (ii)] A harrow which may be used for removing worm-casts and dew from lawns, distributing top dressings, levelling seed-beds, &c. comprises a frame of bottomless box-like structure and a screen essentially consisting of metal rods or wires arranged substantially transversely to the direction of motion of the harrow in use and constituting the lowermost part of the harrow. The frame a may be of heavy wood or cast iron, and may be braced or partitioned internally and weighted. It is drawn by means of flexible attachments connected to lugs c. The transverse wires h may be of steel and may be secured by staples, their ends being bent upwardly and driven into the frame a. Bracing strips, rods, or wires g are secured in the same way above the transverse wires h and are spot welded or otherwise fastened to them. The bracing wires may be interlaced with the transverse wires. Several harrows may be connected together to form a gang, independent vertical movement of each harrow being allowed for.
