621,935. Cycle luggage carriers. PETTERSEN, G. N. Feb. 18, 1947, No. 4716. Convention date, Feb. 28, 1946. [Class 136 (i)] In a cycle package carrier having a substantially rectangular shape and provided with end and side flaps adapted to be rotated from a turned in position to an upright position, the two side flaps being maintained in the upright position by having connections with one or more end flaps at their adjacent edges, each end flap 2 is spring actuated and carries on both sides fixed gripping members 9 which are forced inwardly by springs 3 to grip the adjacent edge of the respective side flaps 5, the side flaps being rotatable through 180 degrees between two horizontal positions. The hooks 9 are formed by the ends of bracing members 8. The base member of the carrier comprises a frame 1 to the bottom of which cross bars 4 are welded so that the side flaps 5 may be accommodated between the side portions of the frame 1 when in their innermost position. The end cross bars have extensions forming hoops 7 which embrace hubs 6 attached to the ends of the side flaps 5 and so support the side flaps in their outermost position and prevent them from being longitudinally displaced.
