Abstract
A high temperature alloy, intended to develop sufficient strength from heat treatment without cold working, has the following composition:-C 0.25-0.35 per cent, Cr 16.0-18.0 per cent, Ni 12.0-14.0 per cent, Mo 1.75-2.25 per cent, W 0.8-1.2 per cent, Si 0.4-0.6 per cent, Mn 1.25-1.75 per cent, Nb 0.7-1.0 per cent, Be 0.45-1.2 per cent, Fe the balance. The alloy may be subjected to a treatment consisting in quenching from a temperature of 1050 DEG C. and thereafter ageing it at a temperature of 500 DEG C.-700 DEG C.
