Abstract

621,258. Tables. PYLE, C. R. Feb. 12, 1947, No. 4074. [Classes 52 (ii) and 52 (iii)] A table top comprises a frame and a number of top-forming members supported in stacked arrangement so that either surface of any one of the members can be uppermost. As shown the open metal frame 1 is recessed and has flanges 3 supporting the topforming members 4, 5, 6 each surface of which is adapted for a different purpose. The frame may be closed at the bottom, forming a work table when the members are removed, and hand-holds provided for rearranging the members which, if the frame is not recessed, may be held in place by pegs or guides engaging slots and locking catches may be provided. The Provisional Specification states also that only a part of the table top may be formed by reversible layers which may be kept in place by clips or hinges.
