Abstract

619,457. Electrically-heated rollers. TIMSONS, Ltd., and TIMSON, E. A. Dec. 11, 1946, No. 36606. [Class 39 (iii)] [Also in Group XIII] In machines for heat-treating sheet material including a plurality of heated rollers, each hollow roller 1 is filled with oil or other fluid which is heated by an immersion heater 12. The screwed outer end of the hollow journal 3 receives a screwed inner portion 10 carrying the heater 12, and a thermostat with a control knob 13. The heater, which rotates with the roller, is supplied with current from slip-rings 16, and brush gear 17, the latter mounted on a stationary casing 18. The outer end of the journal 4 is screw-threaded to receive a safety pressure valve 20.
