Abstract
619,012. Glazing roofs. WILSON, W. Nov. 19, 1946, No. 34278. [Class 20(iii)] In a roof construction comprising a rafter 11 having lateral shoulders 19 which support the edges of overlapping glass panes 12 and a central ridge 22 over which fit cap members 13 having flanges 24 extending over the pane edges, the lower edges of the panes (except for the lowermost panes) are supported by the upper edge of the next lower member 13, Fig. 4, and each member 13 has in its crown 23 an aperture at the lower end for receiving securing means 26 and a projection 27 at the upper end against which the lower edge of the next higher member 13 abuts. In the form shown, the rafters 11 have drainage grooves 21 and putty grooves 20 in the shoulders 19. The lowermost panes are supported by ribs 18, Fig. 5, on a Z-bar 14 screwed to the bottom of the rafters.
