Abstract

618,995. Brassieres. PLEHN, H. M. Nov. 18, 1946, No. 34117. [Class 141] The breast-supporting pockets 7, 8 of a brassiere are formed from segments each of which is provided with preformed parallel linear reinforcements which are disconnected from those of the adjacent segments but with which, when the segments are sewn together, they form closed geometrical figures increasing in size from the apex of each pocket. The reinforcement may be in the form of stitching 16, as shown, or may be interwoven in the fabric. The lines of reinforcement are preferably along the warp of the fabric. The seams between the segments may be formed with a lattice stitching to allow a certain amount of relative movement between the sections.
