Abstract
616,586. Moulding-machines for building- blocks. VICTORIA PARTITION SLAB MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., SLIPPER R. A., and BOYENS, R. V. Sept. 13, 1946, No. 27574. [Class 87 (ii)] A machine for moulding breeze slabs &c. comprises a box-like mould having a foot or hand operated movable bottom for ejecting the block, a tamping head and means actuated by the tamping head which reacts against the mould bottom and transmits the movement of the tamping head thereto. The mould has removable ribbed sides 6, 7, removable ends 5 and a loose bottom 8 actuated, for ejection, by a cam 15 and gearing 17, 18 through rods 11. The rods 11 have supporting extensions 13 guided in sleeves 14. The ejection mechanism is operable either by a handle 22 or foot pedal 23. A pivoted frame 26 carrying a detachable tamping head 27 has lugs 30 which engage the ends of bell cranks 31 and cause their other ends 33 to raise the loose bottom 8 slightly as the tamping head approaches the mould. The setting of the mould bottom which rests on the ends 33 of the bell cranks may be altered by adjustment of stops 34. A hopper 25 is provided for filling the mould. Removable dowels 9 are provided for producing grooves in the blocks.
