Abstract

616,188. Moulds for concrete articles. CAWOOD, WHARTON, & CO., Ltd., and CRISP, G. C. Aug. 8, 1946, No. 23550. [Class 87 (ii)] Beams, posts, slabs &c. are formed in a mould having an open base, a cover plate 4, Fig. 1, and a piston 12 which initially is adjacent a wall 2 opposite a removable wall 3 and which is movable towards the removable wall 3 for a part of the distance between the walls 2, 3. After filling the mould and removal of the wall 3, the movement of the piston causes a relative displacement between the moulded article and mould which breaks down the surface tension between them and allows the mould to be lifted from the article. The wall 3 is slidable in guides . 13, Fig. 3, and is locked in the guides by means of a slide member 7. Alternatively, according to the Provisional Specification, the wall 3 may be hinged. Specification 616,189 describing additional functions of the member 7 in a mould of the same construction is referred to.
