Abstract

615,499. Gauging-apparatus. HADDEN, J. B. July 30, 1946, No. 22594. [Class 106 (ii)] A dial or like gauge has a slidable feeler stem to which is secured one end of a cord or the like coiled on the spindle of an indicating pointer, the other end of the cord being connected to a spring carried by the feeler stem. The slidable feeler 4 is urged outwardly by a spring 9 which engages over a peg carried by a laterallyoffset extension 7 of the feeler. The cord, wound round the spindle 6 of the indicating pointer, has its ends secured in V-shaped notches in a curved strip spring 10 and the extension 7 respectively, the centre of the cord passing through a V-shaped notch in a collar 13 secured to the spindle. A dialcarrying cap 2 is rotatably mounted on the gauge body by means of a split wire ring 14. The longitudinal movement of the feeler 4 is limited by a pin (not shown) which engages a flat on one side of the feeler, thereby also preventing rotation of the latter.
