Abstract
615,029. Fluid-pressure brakes. WESTING- HOUSE BRAKE & SIGNAL CO., Ltd. Aug. 16, 1946, No. 24381. Convention date, Aug. 5, 1943. [Class 103 (i)] The brake cylinder 5 of a compressed air operated brake is mounted within the supply reservoir 1. The cylinder and reservoir may each comprise a single pressing or the reservoir may be in more than one piece. The cylinder is supported by the pipes 7, 8 which are used respectively for supplying lubricant to the piston 17 and to connect the cylinder to the triple or other control valve 11 bolted to a part 9. A further pipe 10 connects the reservoir to the valve. The cylinder is further positioned by engagement of a lug 12 thereon with a stirrup 26 welded to the reservoir. The unit is supported on the vehicle by brackets 14. The cylinder may be provided with a lining of non- corrodible metal or plastic material.
