Abstract

In an improvement in or modification of the process of the parent Specification, the crystals of magnesium carbonate formed in suspension with calcium carbonate are separated therefrom by froth flotation, sodium naphthenate or a pine tar distillate being employed as the flotation collector. Reference is made to the use of 1.2 pounds sodium naphthenate with 0.02 pounds sodium sulphonated lauryl alcohol or pine tar distillate per ton of solids in suspension.ALSO:In an improvement in or modification of the process of the parent Specification, the crystals of magnesium carbonate formed in suspension with calcium carbonate are separated therefrom by froth flotation, sodium naphthenate or a pine tar distillate being employed as the flotation collector.
