613,233. Aircraft actuators. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., ALLWOOD, G. H., BALL, R. D., CROSS, J. E., and WOODFORD, C. G. A. June 12, 1946, No. 17550. [Class 4] [Also in Group XXX] In an actuator of the type described in Specification 587,460, the clutch 8, 9 is arranged coaxially with the screw jack spindle 4 and the gases for emergency operation are produced from a cartridge or capsule 13, mounted in, or directly adjacent to, the hollow end of the spindle 4, the pressure of said gases disengaging dog clutch members 8, 9 against the pressure of spring 11 simultaneously, with the outward movement of member 6.
